MEDIC 2025, organized by BETiC Lab, IIT Bombay, and held on 2nd January 2026, was an inspiring national-level medical hackathon that brought together some of the brightest clinical and engineering minds from across India. The event demonstrated how collaboration, clinical insight, and engineering rigor can translate into meaningful healthcare solutions.
This year, 14 teams from across the country qualified to present working, prototype-based solutions, each addressing real-world clinical challenges. The diversity of ideas and the maturity of execution reflected the growing strength of India’s medical innovation ecosystem, strongly nurtured by platforms like BETiC.
Strong Representation from MEDHA 2025
A key highlight of MEDIC 2025 was the strong presence of teams emerging from MEDHA 2025.
In MEDHA 2025, we received participation from 9 teams, with delegates joining from various parts of India. After a competitive evaluation process, three teams from MEDHA 2025 advanced to MEDIC 2025, highlighting the quality of ideas, mentorship, and translational focus fostered within the MEDHA platform.
Results That Reflect Clinical Impact
The results at MEDIC 2025 reflected both excellence and clinical relevance:
Second Place: Acoustic Uroflowmeter
The only second-place award was secured by the Acoustic Uroflowmeter team, led by clinicians from Sir JJ Hospital:

Their work demonstrated how clinician-led innovation can translate bedside clinical needs into elegant, non-invasive, and practical diagnostic solutions.

In MEDIC 2024, our teams secured 1st place, and in MEDIC 2025, we proudly achieved 2nd place through a single winning team. This consistency reflects a sustainable culture of innovation, learning, and mentorship championed by BETiC.
